Purple Audio – ACTION Fet compressor (rack500)

 A FET compressor reminiscent of the MC77. Designed to work in standard „500” racks.

The Action features the same type of input attenuator and input transformer as our MC77 units. A Class A KDJ3 follows the input transformer followed by an output fader, Class AB KDJ4 output opamp and ourcustom hexifilar Cinemag Nickel output transformer. In the center of the unit is an Surface Mount, SMT sidechain and stereo link amplifier, below that is our SMT compression meter driver, behind that is the SMT input and output meter driver.

The attack and release times are a bit more extreme than the MC77 which can cause distortion which may or may not be what you are looking for. Use at extremes with caution.

Stereo linking is accomplished by cross connection pin 3 & 6 on the edge connector. Possible by using a phase flip xlr female to xlr female connector on the Purple Audio racks. Other racks will need connector wiring modification. most racks do not have any connection to these two pins.
